Racer friends and relatives as well as interested spectators will have plenty of opportunity to watch the action as gravity whisks the carts toward a finish line filled with cheering fans awaiting the thrill of victory and agony of defeats. There is no spectator fee for this event.
There will be room along the racetrack on both sides of the road, starting at the bottom of the hill all the way to the finish lines. The community field parking lot offers an abundance of parking opportunities for all.
Spectators are free to observe the race from either side of the road. Please be respectful of our neighbors’ lawns and property. Please utilize the trash cans along the route and in the park. Vendors will be here to round out a fun family community event.
There will also be Race merchandise for sale to help fund the event and provide you with memorabilia of the race, including t-shirts.
EMT and first aid support will be readily available if needed at the Unadilla Firehouse which is located directly on the racecourse.
No tents will be allowed, and umbrellas will only block other people's view of the track.
For those who are driving a motor vehicle to the Derby, parking will be available at 9 Sperry Streer Unadilla, NY. Refer to the driving directions/location section of the website for specifics. Please keep in mind this is a small NY Upstate town. Treat it with respect by not parking in driveways, at hydrants, or any other places you wouldn't want people to park in YOUR neighborhood.
