How the Two Heats Work

After the National Anthem and introductions, all the carts will be taken by racing staff to the starting lines.

Racers will get two heats each and go down the hill two at a time, side by side against another racer in their age category. Times will be announced to the spectators just after the cars cross the finish line. Times from both heats will be averaged and that time will be the racers final recorded time. Lane-changing is NOT allowed. If a cart crosses the center line separating the lanes, that racer will be penalized five seconds.

In the first heat, all racers will run in age-order, starting from 8-yrs old to the oldest racer. Those in the Kids Division (8-12y) will start off the ramp and further down the hill but share the same finish line with the other age divisions. For the second heat of the day the Teen Division group will race first followed by the Adult division and then last group of the day for the second heat will be our Kid Division.

During the first heats, right after each pair of racers cross the finish line the previous two racers will be taken back up the hill to prepare for the second heat.
