Registration is limited to first 40 racers
Racers must be 8 years or older on race day. Racers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and that parent/guardian must co-sign the race application and waiver.
We encourage you to use your imagination! The derby cart entered in this gravity race must be home-made, and must be occupied by only one person. While kits are meant to be home made, you can still use cart kits to help in your construction. All other specifications can be found under Vehicle Requirements.
In an effort to streamline the races and get the carts down the hill in the quickest time, racers may not share carts within the same division with another person unless each take turns as the same entry in the two heats offered. If sharing a cart, both drivers need to pay a $25 registration fee and separately check in and be weighed.
Racers will be grouped into three divisions, based on ages, for the gravity competition:
- Kids Division: 8 years - 12 years old
- Teen Division: 13 years - 19 years old
- Adults Division: 20 years old and up
Adult and Teen class racers will start at the top of the hill on the raised Unalam Ramp. The Unalam Ramp is about 22 degrees, being eight feet wide and twelve feet long, and is four feet high in the back. In the Kids Division carts will start approximately ¾ up the hill on Clifton street but not on the ramp. All age divisions will share the same finish line.
